Featured Tools: Photograph of
your choice Selection tool, 3-D Transform, Canvas Expand, Clone Paint Brush,
Effects-Paint on Edges.
This is a fun way to
disaply your favourite animal photograph.
MODES and WORKSPACES
Versions
12 and X3 has the
ability for customised
workspace modes, choose your own personal settings or Full Edit,
providing you have all tools available to you for this tutorial.
Version 11 has five
modes. You will see them listed in the My Workshop Menu.
For the purpose of this tutorial, ensure you are working in
"Advanced Mode" in order for all tools to be available to
you.
Version 10 has
two work modes, Basic and Standard. Basic Mode features a simplified
workspace with larger buttons and the most common functions,
whereas,the Standard Mode displays all of the functions. We will
be using the Standard Mode in this tutorial.If you see Standard
Mode faded out as shown, then this is the mode you are using. If
you change from standard to basic you will lose any presets you may
have saved.

STEP 1
Open
your photograph and duplicate (ctrl-d)
and delete original. Always
duplicate and use copy to avoid the possibility of spoiling the original
photograph.
Expand canvas on right
side by 280 pixels. Menu bar, Adjust-Expand Canvas.
STEP 2
Using the Clone Brush, hold down shift key and click with
clone brush in extended area of canvas paint to cover the bare canvas to match
existing.

Select the Standard Selection tool, shape rectangle,
no soft edge, no fixed pixels and make a selection around an area of the head
or subject you choose to be mirrored, right click and Convert
to Object. Move the selection to the expanded/brush-cloned area on the
right. Adjust the size of the selection by using the transform
tool. Convert the selection to Image Path. The
selection must be converted to an Image Path in order to use
the 3-D rotate.

Highlight the selection by clicking on it,
next click on the Transform tool
Next choose Rotate

Holding
mouse on the 3-D circle, manoeuvre the selection pulling it slightly to the
left. Adjust the selection to look like the animal is viewing itself in
the mirror.
When happy with placement of
selection, right click and Convert to Image.

To make a surround on the mirror,
highlight the selection by clicking on it with your mouse then go
to the Menu Bar, Effects, All, Paint-on-Edges. Brush size 20 and
choose a colour of your choice. The mirror will have an edge to it.
If you need to adjust the mirror to
size and position, use the Transform tool, Resize.
